Pore Strips: Using & Choosing
Pore strips are widely used to remove unwanted dirt and excess oil causing blackheads and whiteheads. Since it can be easily bought from stores selling personal care items and health & beauty products, people can get and use it anytime. However, there is a proper way to use strips to remove blackheads.
Pore strips are safe when used correctly. First, it is not advisable to use the pore strips more than once in a period of three days. It is best to use the strips once a week. If one overuses this, it can irritate the skin leaving it burning and red.
To use it, one must first clean the face using a gentle facial wash. To soften and open the pores, place a warm washcloth over the skin for a few minutes. Or, one can lean over a bowl of steaming water exposing the face.
Next, carefully place the pore strips on the forehead, nose or chin. But make sure that the skin surface is wet, so that the strips will stick. Leave it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes. One will know if the pore strips are dry when one cannot smile or create a facial expression. When this happens, it is time to carefully peel off the strip. Start peeling from the sides towards the middle. Afterwards, wash and cleanse the face. Then rub an ice cube to tighten the pores.
Take note, it might be difficult to remove the strips. If this happens, place a small amount of water on the strips. Also, there might be some sticky substance left upon removing the strip. Just wash it with water and gently rub.
Choosing the Right One
As mentioned, pore strips are available in various stores. Each strip has a similar effect and basically just varies on the brand and price. The best thing one can do to choose the right one is by testing it on the skin.
Try using one brand. If it works well then it might be the right one. However, if it does not work the way it is expected to, there are various options. One is to try another brand or go for an all-natural solution.
First is using a mixture of gelatin and milk heated on a microwave that can be applied on the skin just like an ordinary strip. Second is using glue. Just apply it on the skin, let it dry and peel it off using cellotape. Last option is mixing 1/3 cup of honey, 1/2 a lemon juice, a cup of sugar and heat it up. Then mix it with two teaspoons of glycerin and apply the mixture on the skin.
There are different beauty products such as pore strips sold in the market. Since people have different skin types, not all products are the same. The best solution to avoid the stress of searching for the right beauty product is proper hygiene. Aside from taking a bath, wash the face two or more times a day. Most importantly, eat the right kind of food perfect for one’s skin type
